Legal4Landlords

Use Legal4Landlords to perform online tenant referencing. Rentman is able to submit the reference over the internet using the data you have already entered into Rentman’s tenant pages on the deal screen.

Setup.

First you need to subscribe to Legal4Landlords through their website. From there (or by talking to one of their customer support representatives) you will be given a username, password and an “ID”.

In Rentman’s company preferences screen go to the “Extended” tab. Under interoperability you will see “Legal4Landlords”. Click on that and you will see the configuration details.

Double-click on each of the username, password and ID items, enter the info given to you and click save.

Operation.

Within Rentman make sure you have entered as much personal information as possible on the tenant’s (and guarantor’s if applicable) tab of the deal screen.

Then create a reference in the normal way by going to the tenant’s references tab

And click the ‘send’ button.

Select Legal4Landlords as the type of reference and the screen will reconfigure itself.
The default submission type and service are entered as company preferences but you have the option of changing them for each reference. See legal4landlords website to learn the difference between the different levels of service.

Click the “send” button to submit the reference request.

Legal4Landlords will then enter their usual workflow and send an email response to you and, depending on the service level, the tenant. You are also able to use the legal4landlord’s website to monitor the request.

When a reply is received make sure you enter the date and status into Rentman so as to remove this reference from Rentman’s todo list (in a future version Rentman will be able to import the response automatically from legal4landlords).

You can also attach the PDF response (received by email) to the reference request for future reference.
